Everything started has an outcome. Whatever is feed and nurtured will continue to grow. Something so insignificant will grow and make room for secondary things to grow.
Questions I should ask myself include,
"What will grow?"
"Will this growth benefit me or others?"
"Will secondary growth benefit me or others?"
"Will what I teach others benefit them?"
"Will what they teach benefit others?" "Blaa blaa blaaa…
This could be an extensive list of questions. There needs to be a method to summarize all of this questioning about my actions leading to growth. I need a quick method to determine outcome. A question that will encompass many aspects of any action.
I am doing something and establishing a routine. This something is growing.
This something is teaching.
To what end?

"Those that saw You, did not believe because of what they saw. They believed because of what they heard."
I have been given the ability to listen to You for myself. You have provided many delivery methods to listen to You. While I did not see You, I have heard You.
Availability & Access to Your word in a language I understand is a blessing.
Thank You for inspiring Your servants to transpose Your word into a culturally understandable language!

Hope, Arrive Right Fast Please
Honor I choose simple things like drinks, food, and clothes that are based on my desires and wants. I even choose if I will or will not do something. My personal choice has been freely taken by myself and I have enjoyed that liberty. Lent is coming and I need to choose something. It may or may not be all that much to another, yet It will be challenging and freeing for me. My desire is to remove something between Us. My want is to draw near You.
Authority You could, yet You do not. You want, yet You will not. You desire, yet You force not. All is within Your ability, yet You wait. There is no limits to Your ability. You have been ever near, yet seemed so removed. This is my fault.
Request Give me insight into what needs to be removed between Us. I may be unable to come to You right now, yet I can close the distance between Us. Provide clarity as to what I need to fast from during this coming lent. Give me something that will impact my life and relationship with You. I'm confident that whatever You send will serve Our relationship and serve as a beacon for those You have entrusted to me.
Forgiveness I am ever in need of Your forgiveness. There is no limit to the stupid things I say and do to the ones You have entrusted to me. Continue teaching me how much You forgave me. I can clearly see You have forgiven me for many trivial, stupid, and grand things. Upon review of myself via Your forgiveness, I glean how much You forgave me. All that You have taught me will be extended to others. I will freely extend forgiveness to those You set on my path or in my life.
Protection There is only one enemy I need protection from routinely. Outside of that, there are no others I should fear. You will keep me safe, this I am sure. Now I am able be fearless for You!

Statement You are the salt of the earth.
Observation & Question But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty?
Results It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men.
Thought: Salt seasons and preserves.
Statement You are the light of the world.
Fact A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house.
Objective In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Request I'll not lift my head to scan the plains. Keep my eyes focused on the task You have placed before me. Draw me into the lives of those You have entrusted to me. Drive me in a direction that serves Your will.
Forgiveness Released from suffering and drawn into comfort. You remember not what was wronged. Let me do the same.
Protection As You circle me, there is no greater. Your presence alone drives away the one that seeks to snatch me away.

What I find amazing is how You continually turn it up a notch each time something is presented. It is never enough for me to do the minimum or what was previously acceptable. It seems as if You want higher and greater output from me. Consequently, this may be why lists are not a pre-requisite to seeking Your pleasure. Sure there are some fundamental items that can be compiled into a list. This list would be for the purpose of teaching fundamental, yet the list must dissolve if faith is to fully engage. - Lists do not require faith.
- Lists are a minimum.
- Lists neither surpass or exceed expectations.
- List items are simply getting done what is required.
Thought: Think of a list as a set of jumper cables used to jumpstart a vehicle. The cables are removed, the hood is closed, and the vehicle takes off. It is not practical to keep the jumper cables connected after the vehicle is running.
If I use a list in pursuit of pleasing You, I would simply be another person working from the neck down. - There is no bonus!
- There is no pay raise!
- There is no advancement!
You require more of me than a list, yet I will employ a list for instruction.
Why? Cause we all have been called to teach.

Hope, Arrive Right Fast Please
Honor You are my radiance and reflection; my thunder and whisper. Mornings with You cause my mouth water and stomach to make ready. You are my first bite and last night cap. You are my alter and treasure through sickness and health.
Authority I am Your tent and a temple. Your mountain and fig tree. Your priest, prophet, servant, leader, and whatever else You require of me.
Request Keep me centered in humility. Keep my attention focused on service. Remove any obstacles that impede these two areas where I make my burnt offering to You.
Time is not measure the same for Us. Keep my assigned tasks aligned with Your timeline. Keep my actions inline with Your fundamentals that serve Your purpose. Give to me the gift of patience to compliment my natural inclinations to be defiant. The two compliment each other and will serve You well.
Forgiveness You extended forgiveness to me. Hesitant I was to receive Your gift that comes with joy found in pain and suffering. Your mercy granted to me will be extended to all that You set in my path. Those You entrust to me, I seek to protect, yet I can not. They will receive the same forgiveness You gave to me.
Protection What is a bird and a flower to You? I am worth more. I have suffered more, been stranded where my I could not speak, and left for dead once. I do not seek protection from my flesh. Nor do I seek protection from others. You protect me from the things that scare me. You keep me safe from the pain that plagues my mind. I lean on You to keep me safe. I lean on You to keep those You have entrusted to me safe.

Honor You provide example after example as to how much suffering and pain will be received for seeking Your pleasure. The world wears and the flesh tears at my soul. There is much punishment to receive for sin that is interwoven into my life. There are lies and half truths that keep me restrained. Each time You teach me the truth, intense pain proceeds followed by relief and comfort. It is this truth that frees me and comes with the burden to rebuild portions of my life based on this truth that was missing. There are many secondary systems that falter through this renovation.
There are times when I ask myself, "Is it really worth all of this pain?" or "It would seem easier to go with the flow.". I am trading in the short term gain for a long term reward. The pain is great, yet Your mercy and grace is far superior. Your love soothes and easies where sin burns and scares. You are my merciful and loving teacher!
Authority You speak and it happens, yet I have found that You have not forced Yourself on me. Your tactics are based in patience and grace as I am drawn to You. While I know You have the ability to assert Yourself, You have proven that You do not. Your Son is a perfect example.
Request Patience is not a strength of mine. I have an appreciation for process. They are very similar, yet I feel if You were to help me restrain my will, based in the here and now, I could grow a bit. I need to think long term. I need to look forward beyond the now or a week from now. I need to seek three, five, and twenty years from now. Help me keep the fundamentals in the forefront of all my decisions and actions. Keep me focused on Your fundamentals that have eternal implications.
Forgiveness I have taken part in just about as many sins as possible. I have taken away things that can never be returned. As I look closely at myself, I come to understand that many of my decisions in life were horrific. My choices all served my own selfish desires during a season of my life. That chapter has closed thanks to You. You have given me something that I can not repay. Your forgiveness extended to me gains greater value everyday I reflect on my life. Each time I look into my past, I am reminded of another thing that You have forgiven me for. Your forgiveness knows no boundaries. All that You do for me shall be extended to others. They will receive the same level of forgiveness that You keep showing me.
Protection Keep me safe from the evil one. Keep me free from snares of this world that seek to consume me. Set me safely in a field of work for You. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be safe under Your watch.
You are my Rock!

Honor There is no end to the love You extend to Your children. You nurture and protect them with passion that would surpass a mother bear protecting her cubs.
Authority Your children seek Your will and listen to Your word. There is comfort & pain found in applying Your word to my life.
Request Give me a venue to cultivate activities with my children that are similar to the ones You do with me. Soften their hearts to receive Your word and apply it to their lives. Keep me focused on what is important, remove the leeches from my presence. Fortify fundamental routines for the purpose of establishing a solid foundation to live in Your word. It is time to rekindle the work needed in my church.
Forgiveness If I were perfect there would be no need to seek forgiveness, yet I am not. Humbly I seek Your forgiveness. Forgiveness from my will, a will that is fundamentally flawed. My will seeks to serve me and only me. My will is what I need constant forgiveness from. I seek Your pleasure and serve Your will. There are many like me as we all are afflicted with the same selfish desires to serve self. You have forgiven us for many things. Things that run deep and are painful in our life. You have forgiven much. I shall extend the same forgiveness to all that You set in my life. I will use Your example… Love covers a multitude of sins.
Protection Keep me safe from the evil one. Place my will on the fringe and bring Yours front and center in my life. I'm confident that if I stay in Your will, I'll be in the safest place possible.

Honor You have always been in my life. Your firm nudges guide my every move. Apart from You, I am nothing.
Authority Your commands are done. They are accomplished with pure and unchanging perfection. It is pure joy sifting through Your book as I attempt to apply Your precepts to my life.
Request Provide a venue for me to nurture those that You have provided. Grow my creativity to explore various ways to serve those You have entrusted to me.
Forgiveness You paid a hefty price and forgave. Your Son came into the world to save sinners and I am the worst of them. Your example gave me a desire to look inward at myself, consequently I learned how much I needed Your forgiveness. The more I look at myself in contrast to Christ, the easier it becomes to forgive others. I am a monster in need of Your forgiveness and the forgiveness You extend to me is freely given to all that You place in my life.
Protection Day or night, You are my fore and aft lookout. I am safe under Your watch.
You are my Rock!
